Friday, May 25th, 2018 – It’s time for a party, and this one is going to be a SPECTACLE! Join is in celebrating the release of the brand new Oni Press graphic novel “Spectacle” by MEGAN ROSE GEDRIS.
Fan-favorite webcomic creator Megan Rose Gedris (Yu+Me Dream) crafts a compelling tale of magic, deception, and wonder in this stunningly illustrated Oni Press graphic novel about the bond between sisters. Pragmatic engineer Anna works as a psychic in the Samson Brothers Circus, but she doesn't believe in anything supernatural -- until her twin sister Kat is murdered and comes back as a very demanding ghost. Sharing a room with her sister was hard, but not they're sharing a body while trying to identify the killer. With few leads, a troupe full of secretive folk, and strange paranormal occurrences popping up around the circus, solving the case seems near impossible. But the murderer in their midst may be the least of their problems.
“Spectacle” is suitable for a YA audience, but is also a great read for adults, too. This event starts at 7pm on Friday, May 25th, 2018.
Saturday, June 2nd, 2018 – What time is it? ADVENTURE TIME! Challengers is teaming up with The Hero Initiative to celebrate the release of the ADVENTURE TIME 100 PROJECT. Finn, Jake, and the entire Adventure Time crew take center stage in Hero Initiative's famous"100 Project” format.
Monday, June 4th, 2018 - The next meeting of CHATTINGERS, the Challengers Book Club, is for GWENPOOL VOL. 1!
The hero who could have been you, takes center stage in her own series! Gwen Poole used to be a comic-book reader - until she woke up in a world where the characters she read about seemed to be real! But they can't be, right? This must all be a hoax or an imaginary story or something. And that means...no consequences! With that philosophy, Gwenpool just may be Marvel's least responsible character to date! And getting into the merc business is a good way to start - until it pits her against Thor! Place your bets on the Goddess of Thunder vs. the Oddest of Wonders! And if Gwen somehow survives that encounter, with no skills or training, she'll face the wrath of M.O.D.O.K.! Being in a comic book is not as easy as it looks!
Through June 3rd, we're offering GWENPOOL VOL 1 at 20% off! Then, on June 4th at 7pm, come back to hang out and chat with other fans about it! Snacks and cheap beer will be served.

Monday, June 11th - To some, a slumber party theme could come off as cheesy, but we want to celebrate those nights of vulnerability, bonding, and laughter. Sleepovers were so important to young women growing up; it gave them a sense of freedom and empowerment, but also a safe space to be themselves without interruption. Let’s don our PJs and have ourselves a sleepover, without the whole sleeping over part.
